3 Good-to-Go Baon Recipes with a Waffle Maker

Thanks to its name, the humble waffle maker is often overlooked. If you’ve got this gadget in your kitchen, then it’s time to bust it out and use it for more than just waffles. This nifty appliance is a lot more versatile than you think! Just check out these easy and yummy baon recipes below.

Quesa-waffles

Quesadillas are kitchen no-brainers, but with a waffle maker it’s now even easier to make this Mexican flare.

INGREDIENTS

  • Cooking oil
  • 2 small flour tortillas
  • Shredded cheddar
  • Shredded Monterey Jack
  • Black beans
  • Corn
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Sour cream

DIRECTIONS

Preheat waffle maker and grease with cooking oil. Place one tortilla on waffle maker and top with cheddar, Monterey Jack, black beans, corn, and avocado. Top with another tortilla and cook until cheese is melted. Serve with sour cream and enjoy!

 

Pizza Wafflewich

This recipe is as easy as pizza pie! Just like a regular pizza, you can get creative with the toppings and easily customize your own wafflewich to your preference. It’s delicious and portable, making it the perfect baon for the kids.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 bread slices
  • Marinara sauce
  • Mozzarella
  • Pepperoni
  • Butter

DIRECTIONS

Preheat waffle maker. On a separate plate, prepare your sandwich: pour your desired amount of marinara sauce on one side of each bread slice, sprinkle mozzarella, and pepperoni. Brush the waffle maker with butter and place the entire sandwich. Leave for about 3 minutes or until the cheese melts. Enjoy!

Beat eggs in a large bowl and season with salt and pepper. Add in ham, cheddar, and parsley and mix well. Brush waffle maker with cooking oil, then pour in egg mixture. Cook on low until golden and fluffy. Let cool and serve.
